Howard is a founding partner of Mahanusa. He has been involved in the securities industry for more than twelve years. He co-founded PT Bira Aset Manajemen in 1996 and served as its sole Portfolio Manager until December 1998. Funds under his management were frequently ranked among the top performing Indonesia equity and bond funds in 1997 and 1998 in the Asian Wall Street Journal’s Quarterly Fund Surveys. The equity fund under his management returned 47% in 1997 and 75% in 1998; and was awarded Lipper Performance Achievement Certificates for ranking number one in the Lipper Overseas Fund Table for Indonesian equity funds. Prior to managing portfolios, Howard was Head of Research at PT Sun Hung Kai Securities and an Analyst at HSBC Securities and W.I. Carr. He also founded an IT company in 1999 which was listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange in 2001. Howard leads Mahanusa’s fund management business.

Howard sits on Mahanusa’s Investment Committee, with primary responsibility of Risk Management and Internal Audit. In this function, Howard supervises the risk management and internal audit departments of our investee companies.

Howard received a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from The John Hopkins University and earned an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School.
